whats it about?
who we are
Ask for Clive is a charity that works with Pubs and Venues across the UK to create welcome spaces for the LGBTQ+ community and to combat discrimination.  See ‘About us’ above for further information.
why?
We launched the first Pub Pride in 2021, following the cancellation and postponement of many pride events due to Covid.  We wanted to give communities the opportunity to celebrate Pride locally and for venues to benefit from a great night.  Our first year was a huge success and 2022 is going to be even bigger and even better!

support us / donate
Our target is to partner with as many venues as possible and to achieve this we need financial support. Ultimately we’d like to expand our reach from physical venues to develop partnerships with social media companies but, for the time being, we simply don’t have the capacity to pursue this goals.

If you would like to make a one-off donation to the charity to help us achieve our goals and promote inclusion, thank you!

ask for clive

Founded in 2019 in response to the rise in homophobic and transphobic incidents in the UK. In our first year we partnered with 2,000 venues and we’ve continued to grow ever since. In February, 2020 we became a charity with the objective of promoting social inclusion among the LGBTQ+ community by preventing people from becoming socially excluded and relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded. We suspended most of our activities during the covid crisis but are now looking to continue to grow and expand our reach. With many Pride events cancelled in 2020 and postponed or downsized in 2021 we launched Pub Pride which gives communities the opportunity to celebrate Pride locally and supports our partner venues.

Our partner venues include pubs, clubs, theatres, universities, tattoo parlours, social clubs, churches, and also major international venues such as Arena Birmingham.

Since our launch, we have received coverage from BBC Breakfast, ITV News, BBC Midlands and many local radio and print media organisations.
